Family Life
Very happily married to the love of my life (Kevin) with 4 teen-aged children. Add in a dog and 2 cats… life is very full indeed. My oldest is attending York University where he is taking up space… literally! He’s taking Astrophysics. The other 3 attend highschool and our lives are full of driving kids here there and everywhere.
We love Grimsby! It’s a small town at heart with excellent highway access. We’re in the heart of the Niagara Wine Region, and many a Sunday is spend driving, walking or biking around the area enjoying the scenery. Sometimes the kids crave the city so lots of back and forth to Hamilton. April is starting to use the GO bus!!
Career
I’ve been with Bell Canada for 23+ years – hard to be lieve it’s been that long! I guess time flies when you’re having fun? I started as an operator in directory assistance (one ringy dingy…) moved on to brief stint in sales, and have spent the majority of my career in Credit and Collections. I love talking to customers, or knowing that what I am doing effects them in a positive way. I know that seems counter intuitive in a collections environment, but good customers deserve to be treated very well. The not-so-good ones need special attention, too… which is where Risk Management comes in!
SAS
I started using SAS 6 on the Bell Mainframe. Black screen, green letters. The thing I love about SAS is it is a very readable and logical language. I can walk a layperson through SAS logic, and most can understand it right away. Bell is fantastic about training, and I have had the opportunity to learn and grow with SAS over the years. Recently I am learning Dataflux, which is a data quality product from SAS. So many possibilities!!
Hobbies
I have to admit, I jump around a bit in my interests. I love to try new things… here are a few over the years: wood carving, camping, fishing, tarot reading (or any divination method), cabinetry, reading, bicycling, water gardening, vegetable gardening, travelling, the list goes on… next I think I will try pottery.
More to come….
